Mental health support for English-speakers in Germany
I’ve got answers:
-
Absolutely! I’m happy to work with anyone who is comfortable doing therapy in English.
-
I am licensed in Oregon, so in the United States I can only work with clients there. If you are in Oregon, feel free to reach out!
-
Yes, I love working with couples! Couples counseling requires longer session times, so I have a limited number of spots. Feel free to reach out if you would like to know if we would be a good fit.

I am personally located in Hamburg, Germany, but I work virtually, so I can see you wherever you are in Germany.

I use Google Meet for secure videoconferencing. All you need is a computer, tablet, or cell phone, a quiet and private space for yourself, and a decent internet connection. Once it’s time for our session, you just click the link and I’m there!

We will take a few minutes at the beginning of every session to check in with your body and see what it is asking for today. We may follow the body’s signals and spend a lot of time in mindfulness, just communicating with whatever shows up, or we may spend more time talking about what’s going on for you and check in with the body as we do. We will tailor each session to your needs in the moment, not just follow some agenda or program. Each session is different.

I think that a good fit is the most important factor in looking for a therapist. When you reach out, we will schedule a free 30 minute consultation so we can get a feel for what it would be like to work together. You can ask me anything you want, don’t be shy! If your body responds with tears or a sense of “yes” when we chat, if we can share a laugh, if you get excited about moving forward and scheduling, that’s your sign.

My training and education is US-based, and I do not have the German license to practice psychotherapy. There is, however, another term used by professionals which is „Therapeut(in)“ or simply therapist. I am professionally trained in somatic therapy, so it is legal for me to use this title. But since “therapists” don’t have the German, state-regulated license in psychotherapy like “psychotherapists” or non-medical practitioners of psychotherapy do, they can’t say they offer psychotherapy nor therapy. They can ‘only’ offer counselling.
Therefore, I am a somatic therapist, trained in somatic therapy, but only able to offer somatic-based counseling. Make sense? No? That’s okay. The important thing is finding someone who can give you the help you need.
